An escape from the mundane weekends; a perfect way to challenge yourself to greater adventures; and an opportunity to raise the bars to bring out the real fighter who can triumph against all odds.

These statements describe a new event for the people of the Sultanate — National Obstacles Series (NOS), a high-octane evening of adventure racing happening on on Friday April 27, from 5pm, at Muscat Hills Golf Club.

Organised by Sabco Sports, NOS is a one-of-its-kind adrenaline pumping activity in the whole region — the only inflatable obstacle series in Oman, which is a unique participation and spectator event.

The NOS challenge boasts state-of-the-art branded obstacles which are custom-made and imported. NOS is, by and large, a race designed to challenge competitors, entertain spectators, and reward everyone with a fun-filled day out, the organisers have claimed.

“The obstacles are spread over a distance of around 3 kilometers, and every event will see new and exciting race formats to keep everyone on their toes” said Nic Cartwright, GM of Sabco Sports.

“The race features 10 of the world’s largest inflatable obstacles, placed at strategic points around some of Oman’s most beautiful and sought after venues. There is a shorter 1km course for juniors, making the event fun for the whole family,” he added.

“NOS is for the young, the not so young, and everyone in between. Whether you are a keen sports enthusiast with your eyes on the prize (yes, there are cash prizes available!), a weekend warrior, a family, a foodie, or a party-goer, NOS has something for you.”

NOS is also claimed to be a perfect corporate team-building event, and, for non-racers, the NOS festival area allows spectators to support their family and friends while enjoying a host of great food options and entertainment. The event on 27 April will include a kid’s fun zone, sports challenges, live music and a DJ, a Capoeira act, along with spot prizes and raffles throughout the night.
