Indian singer guest of honour at ISC music fest

MUSCAT: Renowned Indian singer- songwriter and music composer Ami Mishra will be the guest of honour at the finals of the “ISC Minara Music festival 2017”, the annual music competition organised by the Indian Social Club Oman.

The finals of the Minara Music Festival 2017 will be held on November 25, Saturday, at the Millennium Hotel Al Khuwair.


Ami made his debut with the song Hasi from the film Hamari Adhuri Kahani which’s been directed by Mohit Suri. Ami is an upcoming young talent in the Bollywood film industry and brought in to limelight after composing a song Hamari Adhuri Kahani.


His latest song is Lost Without You from the film Half Girlfriend. He won GIMA award for best music debut in the year 2016 and another award from Radio Mirchi for upcoming male vocalist of the year in 2017.


The competition is being held in various categories of 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 17 years, 18 and above years, for duet vocal, light vocal and classical vocal in addition to the percussion, wind and string instruments.


The audition was kicked off on November 13 which was well attended by music enthusiasts from across Oman. The entries were alarming this year with large participation in classical, light and duet vocal.


“It is one of the most accepted popular events designed to identify, promote musical genres and recognise musical talents, soloists from Indian diaspora residing in Oman,” said Saji Abraham, Hon Cultural Secretary, in a statement.
