Indian Embassy to hold Yoga Day on June 21

MUSCAT: The Embassy of India, Muscat, has been celebrating the annual International Day of Yoga with support and participation of the government of Oman, yoga organisations as well as yoga teachers and practitioners. This year also, Embassy of India, Muscat, will be celebrating the 4th IDY on June 21, which will include a grand yoga session, based on a common yoga protocol, comprising simple and easy yoga postures, which can be performed by persons not familiar with yoga, under the guidance of qualified instructors.


Ministry of Ayush of has been sharing Yoga Prayer and Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) videos on its various social media platforms of Ministry of Ayush. These CYP videos can also be viewed on the Facebook and Twitter pages of the Embassy of India, Muscat.


Last year, the Embassy celebrated the 3rd International Day of Yoga, on June 21, 2017, where more than 4,500 Omani and Indian yoga enthusiasts, practitioners and beginners practised yoga. Similar yoga sessions were also held in other cities of Oman.


They achieved success in disseminating the benefits of yoga among the Omani citizens and expatriates alike.


The Embassy has also been working, together with a number of yoga organisations in Oman, to organise numerous curtain raiser yoga sessions every week, at the Embassy premises to celebrate IDY 2018.


In addition, all Indian schools in Oman have also organised yoga sessions, seminars/talk on benefit of yoga and Ayurveda. Many yoga sessions are also being organised in other cities of Oman, including Salalah, Suhar and Sur.


On June 21, the Embassy has invited all yoga enthusiasts and practitioners in Oman, along with members of their families (children above the age of 11), to participate in the yoga session, which will be held at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre from 7.30 pm.


The doors will open at 6.30 pm and all the participants are requested to be seated by 7.15 pm. Yoga t-shirts and yoga mats will be distributed to the participants at the venue. We will also have separate seating for ladies and children.
