MUSCAT, SEPT 8 - The need for local hotels to whole-heartedly embrace food safety management standards as a business philosophy was illustrated at a gala event hosted by City Seasons Hotel Muscat last week. For the second consecutive year, City Seasons Hotel Muscat achieved the re-certification for ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System, making it the only hotel in Oman to have received this prestigious recognition twice. John D Rosario, Country Certification Manager Bureau Veritas Oman, Regional Technical Manager-Middle East Region, presented the award at the ceremony. The event was attended by George Demitry, Group General Manager of City Seasons Group of Hotels, George Mathew City Seasons Group Director of Finance, Dubai, all Departments Heads, and staff.

Speaking on the occasion Demitry said: “The vision at City Seasons Hotels is to move forward in all areas where guest safety and comfort are our first priority. The ISO 22000 system, being designed to measure and improve the effectiveness of food safety performance in line with the legislative requirements, it was a normal decision for us to move forward into that direction with the aim to carry out a similar exercise in all other properties of the chain,” he added.
