MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Monday celebrated the graduation of new batch of 31 students from Ibra Nursing Institute at the Educational Training Center in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The graduation ceremony of the 20th batch of students was held under the patronage of Shaikh Yahia bin Hamoud al Ma’mari, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah. It was also attended by Walis and Shura members. In his speech, Dr Huda Abu Hamda, Dean of the institute, lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Health in developing human resources by setting up health education institutions in various governorates and regions of the Sultanate.

So far, 683 students have graduated from the institute since its establishment in 1993. Most of them have joined health care institutions in the governorate. The percentage of Omanisation at various levels of health care in the governorate has reached 68, compared with just 6 before the graduation of the first batch in 1996. The graduates took the nursing oath. The chief guest honoured the outstanding students and handed over the graduation certificates to the graduates.
