Human rights commission holds annual meeting

MUSCAT: The Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) held its fourth meeting for the second annual sitting of the third term under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdullah bin Shuwain al Hosni, Chairman of OHRC. The meeting discussed a number of topics, including follow-up of the minutes of the previous meeting, the proposal of a programme of assistance to some humanitarian cases in coordination with charities and NGOs, review of the latest developments of the participation of OHRC in the 23rd session of Muscat International Book Fair.
The meeting reviewed the report of the participation in the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in Amman, the report of the 22nd annual meeting of the National Human Rights Institutions of the Asia-Pacific Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand, the participation report in the meeting of the CEOs of the national human rights institutions, members of the Asia-Pacific Forum held in the Malaysian City of Malaga, and the report on participation in the Regional Meeting on Reproductive Health held in the Jordanian capital of Amman, in addition to a number of topics. The meeting discussed a number of other issues related to the development of the working mechanism of OHRC and the promotion of its activities inside and outside the Sultanate. — ONA
