Huge turnout at Omani products fair in Algeria

ALGIERS: The pavilion of Oman Fisheries Company (OFC), which is participating in the Omani Products Fair in Algeria, witnessed a significant turnout of visitors and Algerian businessmen in the opening on Monday of the exhibition, where they were briefed on the company’s activities in the production and manufacture of fish products.


The company seeks to find investment opportunities with the Algerian companies and to find an important site for the company’s products in the Algerian markets.


The visitors and investors were introduced to the various fishery products that the Omani Fisheries Company produces and exports to international markets.


It is worth mentioning that the Omani Products Fair in Algeria was opened under the patronage of Mohamed ben Mouradi, Minister of Commerce of Algeria, in the presence of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry.


During his visit to the company’s pavilion, the Algerian Commerce Minister praised the fresh, frozen and value added fish products exported to all countries of the world for the quality of Omani fish products known worldwide. The exhibition will be held till October 13.


The company is represented by Dr Khalid bin Mansour al Zadjali, CEO of Oman Fisheries Company and Nashwa bint Ali al Mazrouiyah, Quality Control Manager and a number of specialists.


The company, through its participation in such exhibitions, seeks to find new markets for its high quality Omani fish products.


The Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) continued at the Exhibitions Palace amidst high turn out by Algerian businessmen and investors and wide participation from the Omani factories and companies. The exhibition aims at enhancing commercial and economic cooperation between the Sultanate and Algeria.


On the sidelines of the exhibition and while touring the exhibition, Ahmed Yahya, first Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria received Dr Sunaidy.


Dr Sunaidy also met with Mohammed bin Maradi, Minister of Commerce and Yousef al Yousifi, Minister of Industry and Mines. He discussed with them means of increasing the volume of reciprocal trade between the two brotherly countries and developing maritime shipping to reach the neighboring markets and increase the volume of joint investment.


They agreed to form a specialized work team to revise the custom procedures and facilitate the industrial products. — ONA
