HM’s voluntary awards presented

MUSCAT: The Book House Public Library in Salalah was crowned with the Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work, 2017 in the Public Library category for societies. The winners were announced at the award ceremony held on Tuesday. Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Shaikha Aisha bint Khalfan al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries presided over the award ceremony and honoured the winners of the 5th Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work at the InterContinental Hotel, on Tuesday.


The Omani Women’s Association came in second place and Oman Cancer Association won the third place for its palliative treatment project.  In the individuals category, Zahra bin Salim al Aufiyah bagged the first prize for her project on the literacy of villagers, the second prize went to Ibrahim bin Said al Sawai for his Sada Voluntary Centre and Zahraa bint Mohammed al Mafrajiyah won the third prize for her trade project.
