SUHAR: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers at Bait Bahjat Al-Andhar in Suhar. At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan gave thanks and praise to the Almighty God for the riches and progress He has bestowed on Oman, praying to Allah to eternalise these riches and wishing that this year will be a year of bounties and blessings on Oman and its people. His Majesty the Sultan also prayed that prosperity will prevail in all parts of the world.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan reviewed local, regional and international issues. On the domestic front, His Majesty expressed satisfaction over the continuous efforts exerted by the government and all institutions of the state in their drive to promote the march of comprehensive development. His Majesty the Sultan noted the positive rates that maintained the level of basic social services rendered to citizens in all parts of the country, as well as the diversification of sources of income and the augmentation of contribution of non-oil revenues in the overall general revenues.
Importance of Job center
His Majesty the Sultan underscored the significance of development plans made by the government and their role in generating more investment opportunities and increasing private sector cooperation with the government in all sectors of national action. In this context, His Majesty the Sultan pointed out the importance of setting up a National Recruitment Centre and the role that it would undertake in providing employment opportunities for Omani citizens in various spheres within the framework of partnership between the government and the private sector. His Majesty the Sultan stressed the need to activate the State’s Administrative Apparatus and enhancing it so that it could keep pace with the future requirements of sustainable development.
In his review of regional and international developments, His Majesty the Sultan reiterated the constant keenness of the Sultanate on cooperation in unifying efforts to foster dialogue and understanding between countries towards the objective of realising security and stability for all nations. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan touched on various aspects and issues of concern to country and citizens. He issued his Royal directives to all institutions of the state to continue exerting efforts to achieve the desired goals.
