Health Minister attends World Health Assembly

GENEVA: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, participates in the opening of the 70th session World Health Assembly (WHA), the decision-making body of World Health Organization (WHO). The delegation of the Sultanate is led by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health, and a number of officials and specialists of the ministry. The WHA is WHO’s highest decision-making and health policy-making body, which meets annually in Geneva and is attended by delegates from all WHO member states.


In the framework of the World Health Assembly system, the Minister of Health will deliver his closing remarks on the occasion of the end of his presidency of the 69th session. The minister will hand over WHA presidency to the president of the 70th session of WHA. He will also meet a number of health ministers of a number of brotherly and friendly countries to discuss cooperation in the field of health and strengthening relations between the Sultanate and these countries. — ONA
