Govt units to submit revised payrolls

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Finance has called on all government units to review and recalculate the employees’ salaries and dues and to identify the financial cost including the annual increment for fiscal 2017. The ministry issued a circular on Monday stressing the importance of abiding by Article 28/2 of the Financial Law and its related regulations disallowing transferring funds from the salary allocations unless given permission from the Ministry of Finance except for cases where the transfer is promulgated by Royal Decree or in line with a certain law providing for wage amendment. As per the circular the government units should calculate the salaries for January including the annual increment and provide the Ministry of Finance with updated e-payrolls.
