Muscat, FEB 2 -

A fusion of music that is created by taking different instruments from different regions of the world, diverse cultures and heritage is all set to perform at the Oman Auditorium of Al Bustan Palace a Ritz Carlton Hotel on Monday, February 6, to transform a night with world music in Muscat.

Presented by Arabesque International, Jacaranda Ensemble for the second time in Oman is part of the third season of the “Muscat Chamber Music Series” event in Muscat the earlier season of which was an astounding success.

The concert, featuring the world renowned exceptional ensemble “Jacaranda”, envisages music as a medium of expression sans borders. It aids the expression of both universal and very personal feelings, of moods, but also of course of the conscious artistic process, working on, in and with the musical material.

The one can never suffice without the other, and this remains true from age to age and from culture to culture. It is only the particular types of music, their sounds, rhythms, musical forms and formulations, the manner of ensemble playing, as well as their purpose, which are bound up with specific times and places.

“Perhaps the best way of approaching the Jacaranda ensemble and their music is not to expect music - or at least music in the usual, traditional sense. Rather one should prepare oneself for a reflection in sound of one’s own inner resonances and moods, immersing oneself in the sounds of nature becoming music”, Thomas Hoffmann from the Jacaranda said.

Kids need to be trained at a budding age and Jacaranda Ensemble is conducting workshops at different schools in Muscat starting since Thursday with the Muscat International School followed by a workshop at the British school on February 5 and also at the PDO school on February 7, for the first time the in the history of the “Muscat Chamber Music Series” it will hold a master class to Omani musicians of the Royal Omani Symphony Orchestra and the Royal guard musicians, according to Ahmed Abouzahra, GM of Arabesque.

Arabesque International launched the Muscat Chamber Music Series believing in the role of education, arts and music as a driving engine for the development of nations to communicate with the new talents through this type of music that is traditionally performed by a small group of instrumentalists, in a relatively small space. In order to pursuit this goal, Arabesque invites experienced high-quality chamber music ensembles to Muscat, for a period that ranges between one and three weeks, to provide educational and musical activities in schools.

“The first season was being organised since September 2014.

There were three pre-launches concerts. Then the opening of the Muscat Chamber Music Series Season I took place in April 2015 where some of the musicians of the renowned Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra gave workshops to students of different ages from different schools and a master class to professional musicians from the Oud Hobbyists association.

The press briefing to announce the second concert of the Jacaranda Ensemble was attended by Hans Chrsitian Freiherr von Reibnitz,

the German Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ahmed

Abouzahra the General manager of Arabesque International LLC and the 5 musicians of the German ensemble “Jacaranda”.
