A number of scheduled and non-scheduled flights from Oman will be taking off to Kuwait with fans for the finals of the Gulf Cup on Friday. Over 30,000 fans are expected to travel from the sultanate.

Both the private and public sector institutions stepped in on Wednesday, offering free seats to football fans who wish to cheer the national team in their match against UAE.

Apart from encouraging fans, the organizers are focusing on getting maximum social media influencers from Oman to the finals.

The Ministry of Sports of Affairs announced that more than 4,000 people applied within 25 of the start of the registration process on its website for free tickets to Kuwait.

Oman Air announced nine flights to Kuwait at RO16 per seat, which adds up to 1,790 seats to cheer the team at the Gulf Cup finals. One aircraft will take off from Salalah.

The company also arranged holiday packages to Kuwait, including airport transfers, daily breakfast buffets and two nights’ accommodation on twin sharing basis.

SalamAir, which earlier said it is negotiating with the concerned authorities, said will add eight flights to Kuwait – six from Muscat and one each from Salalah and Suhar.
