In its continuing crackdown on illegal street vendors, officials from the Muscat Municipality seized large quantities of food items, which were sold illegally in the capital.
In a statement, the municipality said that in the first two weeks of this month, 18 health violations were detected and destroyed 913 kg of vegetables, 209 kg of fish and confiscated 1,015 kg of fruits.
“The foodstuff items were seized from expat street vendors who were selling them illegally in Muttrah”, the statement said.
