Al Saidiya School Museum, Oman’s first official school, whose structure is now a museum, marked the 47th National Day with an exhibition titled ‘Nation’s Joy’.

The exhibition featured 47 pieces of art by students from Muscat. “The students have portrayed their pride,” said the Director of Al Saidiya School Museum, Rudaina Amur al Hajri.

The event connected the new generation with the school whose pupils later became some of the prominent personalities contributing to Oman’s Renaissance.

The courtyard of the school, decorated in national colours, was once again bustling with teachers and students who came together for the exhibition.

Among the attendees was Khalid al Qasmi, a former teacher at the Al Saidiya School, who recollected the celebration of first anniversary of National Day celebrations, which was held at the school in 1971.
