First Oman Partnership, Social Responsibility Forum begins today

MUSCAT: The 1st Oman Partnership and Social Responsibility Forum, under the theme ‘Towards a National Charter for Social Responsibility’, begins today, Wednesday, under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development.


Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa al Thani, Envoy of the Arab League Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, will be participating for the first time in the Sultanate. The forum will be attended by government and private institutions in the field of social responsibility and individuals and institutions, in addition to their highnesses, ministers and undersecretaries and stakeholders .


The first session begins with the title “Sustainable Development and Social Integration”, which reviews the difference between corporate social responsibility and the culture of volunteerism, the principles of responsibility, the mechanisms of implementation, and the management strategy to maximise their utilisation.


The second session discusses the theme “Future of Social Responsibility”, in which the participants will present their working papers and a seminar to extrapolate the prospects of corporate social responsibility and institutions operating in the Sultanate, The third session will review the best practices in social responsibility in the Sultanate, and the models that can be built on them, by highlighting the experiences of companies and individuals supporting social responsibility, as well as a presentation by one of the beneficiaries of social responsibility. — ONA
