Interestingly, even expatriates from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan were beneficiaries of this noble gesture. A large number of people attended the wedding of around 17 young couples from Suwaiq in the presence of a top official from the Customs in Buraimi Governorate. The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran following which the chief guest praised the efforts of the organising committee for the collective or mass wedding. The grooms were also presented with souvenirs. There are plans to organise two weddings every year in Suwaiq with cooperation of the local community.
