MUSCAT: The Ministry of Manpower on Tuesday opened at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre an exhibition that includes 40 ideas presented by students of the technical and vocational colleges. The exhibition, which was inaugurated by Dr Muna bint Salim al Jardaniyah, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Technical Educational and Vocational Training, is part of the events to announce winners of the ‘Manpower Innovation Competition’ on Wednesday.

The ‘Manpower Innovation Competition’, which was launched by the Ministry of Manpower in April 2018, aims at promoting innovation in various fields and contributing to building innovation-based economy. In all, 375 projects submitted by the technical and vocational colleges compete for the awards.

“The exhibition includes some works by students of the colleges of technology, lecturers, trainers and staff at the Ministry of Manpower or the technical and vocational colleges,” said Dr Al Jardaniyah.

The competition aims at promoting innovation and enhancing competition among students of the technical and vocational colleges, as well as the ministry staff.

It is also intended to attract talented individuals and encouraging them to turn their innovations into reality that foster partnership among the three production parties — government, employers and employees. — ONA
