Energy, water exhibition conference from tomorrow

MUSCAT: The Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference will kick off at Oman Convention and Conference Centre from April 30, tomorrow, under the patronage of HH Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad al Said, Assistant Secretary-General for Communications at The Research Council.


The three-day exhibition and conference will be held this year under the title ‘Smart Management of Energy and Water Systems’. The event aims to strengthen the efforts of the electricity, water and wastewater sectors in the Sultanate.


The conference and exhibition are organised by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (Diam), in cooperation with Oman Expo. They are an ideal platform for the international exchange of experiences, studies and inventions.


The conference aims to highlight the most important investment opportunities for governmental and private institutions operating in the electricity and water sectors in the Sultanate.


It also discusses various topics, including research on energy and water strategies and addressing programmes and plans to strengthen the infrastructure of the sectors of electricity, water and wastewater treatment and the future of energy, in addition to their investment opportunities, especially renewable energy, and sustainable water management in the Sultanate.


It is an ideal platform for the international exchange of expertise, studies and inventions in the related fields. It aims to enhance efforts to consolidate the position of these sectors in the Sultanate, to highlight the achievements made in each of them and to discuss their future and investment opportunities, along with studying their strategies and sustainable management and ways of raising awareness. Diam has formed a specialised technical committee from all governmental and private bodies related to the topics. — ONA
