MUSCAT: The Ministry of Higher Education on Monday signed cooperation agreement with the (Riyada) Public Authority for SMEs Development for boosting entrepreneurship in the Colleges of Applied Sciences (CAS) and College of Education in Al Rustaq.
The agreement was signed by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Higher Education Ministry Under-Secretary and Khalid bin al Safi al Huraibi, Acting Chief Operating Officer at Riyada in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Shibli, Director-General of the Colleges of Applied Sciences.
As per the agreement, Riyada, in cooperation with the ministry of higher education, will conduct a number of awareness and training programmes to enhance entrepreneurship culture for the CAS students and the College of Education in Al Rustaq.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Al Huraibi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ministry of higher education for paying attention to bolstering entrepreneurship culture for the students. He pointed out that such cooperation constitutes a leap for Riyada being an entity responsible for spreading entrepreneurship culture among the public.
This agreement will establish cooperation in the fields of training, culture and awareness between Riyada and the Ministry of Higher Education. The cooperation will involve a joint action plan for conducting various events such workshops and forums with special focus on the applied aspect of entrepreneurship, Al Huraibi said.
