Dr Mantheri discusses ties with Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, State Council Chairman, met with Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs on Friday.


The State Council Chairman highlighted the keenness of the Sultanate to develop cooperation in relations with Pakistan, pointing out that these relations are gaining importance and bear a promising future, which abounds with opportunities for development and keeps pace with the aspirations of the leadership and people of both countries.


The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in various fields.


The meeting was attended by Chairman of the State Council and a number of Pakistani officials.


Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani had received the Omani delegation at the airport on Wednesday, following which they met Mamnoon Hussain, the President of Pakistan.


The Omani delegation also met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman of Senate of Pakistan on Thursday. The talks focused on boosting Oman-Pakistan ties and enhancing cooperation in the parliamentary field.


The delegation accompanying Dr Al Mantheri, included Shaikh Hamed bin Mohammed bin Abdallah Bahwan al Mukhaini, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Ali al Rawas, Ahmed bin Sulaiman bin Saleh al Maimani, Dr Wafa bint Salim al Harrasi and Dr Aisha bint Ahmed al Washahi.


The official visit concludes today.
