DAMASCUS: Two separate bombings rocked Damascus on Wednesday, as the country’s devastating civil war entered its seventh year. The first bombing targeted a court complex in the centre of Damascus, leaving at least 39 people dead and dozens injured, a monitoring group reported. Syrian television broadcast video footage from the site, showing a pool of blood covering the floor of the lobby in the aftermath. Residents of the surrounding Al Mezze district said they heard a powerful blast. Later on Wednesday, a bomber detonated an explosive belt inside a restaurant in north-western Damascus, Sana reported.
