SALALAH: Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, visited a number of Royal Army of Oman (RAO) formations in the Governorate of Dhofar to check their readiness to carry out the tasks and duties assigned to RAO personnel. The visit also aimed at getting updates on the ongoing construction projects at some military sites and review the modernisation and development process of the Royal Army of Oman under the Royal care of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The visit included the 11th Infantry Brigade and some of its units, as well as some Frontiers Guard Brigade units. He also visited Sultan Qaboos Military Academy in Edem and reviewed the training courses and programmes of study provided by the College. He toured the college facilities and reviewed the training equipment they have. The minister was accompanied during the visit by Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman and a number of senior SAF officers. — ONA
