Dakhiliyah municipality goes into development issues

The Municipal Council of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate held its fifth periodic meeting for this year under the chairmanship of Shaikh Dr Khalifa bin Hamad al Saadi, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah and Chairman of the Municipal Council.


The council discussed issues related to the work of the municipality and ways to improve its activities. Many of the government agencies that are connected to the needs and demands of citizens attended the meeting.


The governor welcomed the attendees and approved minutes of the meeting held in connection with Oman Vision 2040.


Members reviewed responses of the directorates and government departments in the governorate on the topics that the council had already submitted to the respective authorities. The matters were related to development in the wilayats of the governorate.


The most important among them was the response of the Director of the Roads Department in the governorate on the request for paving the Marwah road in Nizwa and solutions to roadblocks caused by accidents on the double road extending from Rusayl.


Moreover, the director of Samayil Housing responded to the impact of the fish market which will be established in Bidbid by the expansion of the double street Al Rusayl-Bidbid.


The minutes of the Municipal Affairs Committees which included a number of applications were also discussed.


The selection of solid waste treatment site in Nizwa in coordination with Bee’ah company also came up discussion.


Several schemes for Samayil were adopted, besides discussing the methods used for the demolition and reconstruction of old houses without ownership records. Selection of a park site for Samayil and rental of public toilets in Al Hamra also discussed. Reasons for the frequent power outage in some villages in Manah and the impact of some schemes in Izki were took up for discussion.
