NIZWA, May 1 - With the participation of more than 60 scouts and commanders of the scout units in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, the scout camp activities ‘Scout Challenge,’ which lasted for two days, concluded at Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Nizwa.

The programme included presenting many scouting activities. This was done after the participants were divided into teams and pioneers, preparing the camp, making tents and distributing roles, tasks and plans. Challenge Team discovered the caves in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, as a task of training the participating scouts.

The mountain path started from Al Hail to Wadi Bani Habib of 18 kilometres long. During which the scouts carried out many skills like measure heights using scouting methods. The first day concluded with a night party where they gave the participants a chance to show their talents. Awareness and guidance programmes that serve the community were presented. On the second day, participants in the camp toured the tourist places and the natural beauty of Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

The participants also visited the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort where they were introduced to the resort’s sections and services.

Scout commander, Ahmed bin Abdullah al Humimi, head of the scout section of Al Dakhiliyah Directorate of Education, handed over the certificates.

Commander Aflah al Zakwani said the camp was based on an old idea about the establishment of a camp in Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

Al Zakwani thanked the Ministry of Defence liaison office for its support in transporting the participants to and from the mountain.
