Cultural Club to organise seminar on Oman sustainable culture

Muscat: The Cultural Club will hold a seminar tomorrow (Tuesday) entitled "Experiences of Oman Sustainable Culture: Oman Private Museums" at the National Museum.


The seminar will be held due to the importance of the private museums, their role in preserving the cultural heritage of the Sultanate, its active contribution in spreading knowledge and activating the cultural and tourist activities, and introducing the present generation to the heritage of parents and grandparents.


This seminar will discuss a range of topics that include highlighting the idea and the emergence of private museums participating in the event, to learn about their experience on how to employ the concept of sustainable Omani culture through cultural investment, and identifying the most important challenges facing the museum work in Oman, in addition to dealing with many topics relevant to the Omani private museums.


The seminar will be attended by Omani private museums, including the Old Al Hisn Museum in the Governorate of South A'Sharqiyah, Beit Al Zubair Museum in the Governorate of Muscat, Sons of Majan Museum in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, and Beit Al Ghasham Museum in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, Al Afiya Heritage Museum in the Governorate of South A'Sharqiyah and Gallia Museum of Modern Art in the Governorate of Muscat.


The seminar will be moderated by Nasr al Busaidi, media professional and researcher. The seminar comes as part of a series of seminars organised by the Cultural Club within its current cultural season.


It also comes as part of the Omani Culture Experiences Programme, which aims to highlight the concept of cultural investment in the Sultanate and the importance of adopting this concept due to the Sultanate's rich ancient culture and heritage, which will be highlighted in the discussions that will be enriched by the audience. --ONA
