The executive management of Jusoor shared that over the past five years, they’ve spent over RO 6.5m to serve the local community in sustainable projects, the amount having been provided by three supporting companies — Orpic, Sohar Aluminium, and Vale — to achieve the essence of social responsibility. The three companies are the major institutions operating in the Al Batinah economic region.

Thirty-three major projects and social programmes were implemented to meet the social needs of the community, which were distributed in four (4) focus areas which are: education for work, entrepreneurship, health and environment, and sports and culture.

Currently, Jusoor continues to implement 6 social projects in Suhar and Liwa as continuation of its programme of support to the local community.

It allocated RO 3.4m to fund the projects in several sectors which included health, education, culture and recreation.

Those projects are represented in Liwa Public Park which cost RO 400,000 and funded by Sohar Aluminium and Orpic in cooperation with the General Directorate of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate. The park, which is almost ready for audience contains games for special needs children, green areas, greeneries, pedestrians walking paths, 6 shaded areas, rocks garden, and cafeteria and service utilities.

It includes functional treatment rooms, physiotherapy rooms, speech therapy rooms, special education classes and administrative offices.
