Cricket World Cup Trophy arrives in Oman

Muscat: Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed bin Said al-Mardhouf al-Saadi  Minister of Sports Affairs, on Monday received a delegation, including the officials of Oman Cricket that accompanied the World Cup 2019 trophy.

Al Amerat cricket ground will accord a grand welcome to the trophy at 5.30pm on Monday amid a host of festivities that have been planned to enthrall the audience.

Some of Oman players and officials who participated in ICC World Cup Qualifier will present the trophy to the Minister of Sports.

The trophy will also be displayed at the National Museum of Oman and the Royal Opera House Muscat among other venues.

Oman Avenues Mall will host the trophy between 11am and 4pm on Tuesday.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales from May 30 to July, 14 2019.

The first match will be played at The Oval while the final will be played at Lord’s. It is the fifth time that the Cricket World Cup will be held in England and Wales, following the 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 World Cups.
