MUSCAT: The recently organised regional training course on “Middle East and North Africa (MINA) Trade Policies” discussed many trade issues.

The course was hosted by the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in cooperation with the World Trade Organisation (WTO), for the third time with participation of 23 government officials representing eight Arab countries.

Dr Hussein al Bughanmi, Academic Coordinator of the course, head of WTO chair at the Department of Natural Resource Economics at the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences at SQU, said the main aim of the course is to strengthen the capacity of WTO state members, as well as the states wishing to join the implementation of WTO agreements in terms of the trade policies, in addition to providing the participants with the necessary skills to improve their negotiating abilities. — ONA
