Rockville: Business Monitor International (BMI) Research, a US market research firm, predicted that the Sultanate would become an active market in the fields of construction during the coming years.

“The Sultanate is now emerging as an attractive regional and global construction market in light of strong demand, an ambitious economic diversification agenda and a favorable regulatory environment,” the BMI said in its report “Oman Infrastructure” published by Market Research website.

BMI expects the Sultanate to be one of the best countries to achieve a good performance in terms of growth of the construction sector by 10.1 per cent in 2017 for this sector, an annual rate of 10.7 per cent over the next five years. — ONA
