MUSCAT: The Capital Market Authority continues organising training programmes for national employees working in the insurance sector. 190 employees benefited from the programmes organised during June this year.

530 employees benefited from the programmes organized in 2016 as per new Omanisation policy based on empowering Omani cadres working for insurance companies and brokers to take senior and medium positions not only operational roles.

The policy is coupled with training and qualification in specialized programmes such as insurance and actuary sciences, accounting and commerce etc.

CMA represented by the Directorate General of Insurance organised the 7th training programme this year on investment in training and talent management as part on the training series for 2017 which target national cadres working for insurance companies and brokers which commenced two years ago to acquaint the national cadres with technical knowledge and skills.

Talent management is important for being one of the essentials of human resources management to benefit from the capacities of the employees in the institution.

Talent discovery and investment is key role of the human resources department to perform their role

in attracting and selecting the employees.

The advances in technology contribute to creating new and renewable talents and cultures that add economic value to the institutions.

The programme aims to acquaint the participants with the scientific and practical indicators for the discovery of talent in the institutions and the patterns and types of dormant talent and how to find out and equip them with methods to develop and prepare the talents. Participants will have practical training on how to manage the talents.

It is noteworthy that CMA has commenced execution of these programmes in 2015 and 15 programmes were organized with the participation of 400 employees. In the next year 18 programmes were executed with the participation of 530 employees working for insurance companies, brokers and agents.

An educational window was opened for CII certification in the Sultanate with the participation of 62 employees in collaboration with the College of Banking and Financial Studies.
