Muscat Jan 13 - The wearing of military fatigues or similar clothing/ accessories by civilians has been banned.
The chairman of the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), through the issue of Decree 9/2019, has also banned the sale of such clothing and accessories.
Article 1 of the resolution bans the wearing of military or similar clothes and accessories by civilians. Article 2 stipulates punishment for a person contravening the decision.
“As per the Consumer Protection Law, anyone contravening provisions of this decree shall be punished with an administrative fine of not less than RO 50.”
In case of repeated violations, an administrative fine of RO 50 shall be imposed each day. However, the total fine shall not exceed RO 2,000.
