MUSCAT: The civil organisations taking part in the national exercises Al Shumookh 2 and Al Saif Sareea 3 (Swift Sword 3 or SS3) affirmed their active role in the proceedings of the exercise. This affirms the abilities of the affiliates of these sectors and their realisation of the importance of integrating the responsibilities of different stakeholders in the exercise.

“The Foreign Ministry takes part with the other military, security and civil organisations in this exercise. Coordination is maintained with the relevant organisations taking part in the exercise. The participants from the ministry acquired many skills on the basic trends for the duties of the Foreign Ministry, especially the Sultanate favours peace in all issues which enable it to be a key player in solving many regional and international issues”, said Abdullah bin Salim al Harthy, Plenipotentiary Minister for the participation of the Foreign Ministry.

On his part, Mohammed bin A’mer al Hattali, Director-General of Organisations and Trade Relations at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said that the participation of the ministry in the national exercises Al Shumookh 2 and SS3 comes as part of the joint cooperation and harmony with the military, security and civil organisations. The ministry’s role here is to activate the export, import and distribution of basic commodities and benefit from the agreements signed by the Sultanate with the brotherly and friendly countries to serve the public interests and achieve the common national plans. — ONA
