MUSCAT: Within the context of continuous attention being given by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to foster cooperation between the state’s institutions due to the positive impact of such cooperation on enhancing the country’s comprehensive development march, aimed to serve citizens all over the Sultanate, the Council of Ministers and the Council of Oman (the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura) held a regular joint meeting here on Wednesday. The meeting stemmed from a conviction in the importance of constructive dialogue and the need to reach views that help implement development plans and programmes with the highest rates of professional performance.

The meeting began upon the arrival of His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.

HH Sayyid Fahd confirmed that the government accords priority to the views and proposals by Council of Oman members which seek further development of sectors and facilities required by each stage in accordance with measures that maintain balance among all governorates of the Sultanate.

HH Sayyid Fahd explained that the Council of Ministers continuously embark on studying issues raised by the Council of Oman.

The Council of Ministers conducts a step-by-step monitoring of implementation of projects and closely follows up their requirements, said HH Sayyid Fahd, noting that the directives of the country’s monarch, His Majesty the Sultan, focus, above all, on caring for citizens in all parts of the country to ensure that they get the best of services, so that every Omani remains proud of the progress and prosperity of his homeland and actively participates in the nation building process with solid will and determination.

The honourable members of the State Council and members of Majlis Ash’shura held one-to-one meetings with members of the Council of Ministers and engaged on an extensive exchange of views on issues pertaining to the implementation of plans and programmes of their respective ministries in all wilayats and towns of the Sultanate.

The chairmen of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura and other members of the Council of Oman commended the positive impact of the meetings on supporting coordination and cooperation among the state’s institutions, serving the supreme interests of whole nation.

HH Sayyid Fahd pointed out that the Council of Ministers would put into practice the outcome of this meeting through the dispatch of respective committees, formed from the Council of Ministers and other state institutions, to define the nature of issues raised during the joint meeting, with a view to formulating priorities of implementation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan, praying to the Almighty Allah to protect him and grant him continuous good health and happiness.
