Chinese Silk Road Centre officials conclude visit

MUSCAT: The delegation of the New Silk Road Centre for Economic Exchange Service in Tianjin in China concluded its visit to the Omani-Chinese Friendship Committee on Thursday. During the visit, the delegation met with officials, besides visiting the International Cooperation Office in Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the German University and Al Sharqiyah University.


Mohsen bin Khamis al Balushi, Adviser of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, member of the Omani-Chinese Friendship Committee met with Ibrahim Mo’men, Director of the New Silk Road Centre for Economic Exchange Service and Head of the US Trade Chamber Branch. The meeting discussed aspects of the economic and cultural cooperation, which serve the joint interests in the two friendly countries.


The Chinese side expressed its desire to cooperate with the publishing institutions in the Sultanate to translate some of the Omani books to the Chinese language, as well as expanding exchange in this regard for the importance of highlighting the two cultures. The Chinese side also discussed a cultural project, which is considered the first in the Chinese civilisation, namely translating the Chinese traditional medicine books to the Arabic Language that will be in 10 folders. — ONA
