Challenges facing private sector growth discussed

MUSCAT: The State Council Office held a meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, in the presence of Office members, Secretary General and the heads of standing committees of the Council. Talks during the meeting dealt with strengthening dialogue and communication with Majlis Ash’shura by organising joint meetings to discuss the mechanisms of topics studied by the two sides in various fields.


The Office hosted Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Harthy, Head of the Economic committee and Ahmed bin Sulaiman Sal Maimani, Rapporteur of the Committee to discuss the subject of the Committee on the “private sector development policies and labour market challenges.” The discussions also focused on the proposal submitted by the Committee on Culture, Information and Tourism relating to traditional crafts, which the committee intends to study during the current annual sitting. Following this, the Bureau decided to forward it to the Regular session for approval. The meeting also discussed the report on the reception of the delegation of the Labour Union for Education Sector. — ONA
