MUSCAT, April 21 - As part of research promotion initiatives, College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) in association with The Research Council is conducting the first annual Faculty Research Paper Competition titled ‘FREPCO 2018’.
The purpose of this competition is to promote research among academic staff in business-related areas and reward excellence in faculty research. This competition provides a forum for the researchers to disseminate their research outcome to the community.
April 30 is the last date for submission of papers as the competition is slated to be held on May 27 at the CBFS campus at Bausher Heights.
The FREPCO, according to Anis Moosa al Lawati, Acting Dean of the College, provides an opportunity to the paper presenters to have an interaction with practicing researchers who offer a critical feedback on their research work. “FREPCO also helps the presenters to prepare presentation in scientific conferences.
The evaluation process helps researchers to get critical evaluation on their papers which in turn help them for future publication in peer reviewed journals,” he said.
This competition is aimed at developing academic network among the participants. The competition is open to academic staff in business-related area in various colleges and universities in Oman.
The researchers doing papers in the areas of accounting, finance, economics, marketing, human resources, business, tourism, entrepreneurship and other related areas are welcome to participate in this competition, said Al Lawati.
The research papers may be in qualitative, quantitative or conceptual form. Papers will be evaluated through double-blind peer review by a Scientific Committee based on set criteria. There will be cash prizes for top three presenters in this competition. There is no registration fee for this competition.
