SOHAR: Hard skills like technical knowledge keep on changing because of the rapidly changing environment and one needs to keep updating hard skills, but soft skills remain almost the same once we master them. They enable us to achieve our goals like getting desired jobs, getting promotions, recognitions etc.
Keeping this in mind Sohar College of Applied Science conducted a workshop on ‘Soft skills — why they are important?’ The idea behind this workshop was to develop and improve the students soft skills so they can easily cruise though the recruitment process for getting jobs and the one who are already working can perform their jobs in a much better way hence making them better professionals.
This workshop was combination of various activities like role plays, games, quizzes etc which enabled the students to recognise their strengths and weaknesses and tips to convert the weaknesses to their strengths.
The students from CAS, Sohar, Sohar University and some working professionals from Jindal Shadeed participated in the workshop and demanded to conduct one more similar workshop in future.
