MUSCAT: The Social Committee at the State Council hosted Ali bin Ibrahim al Raisi, CEO of Oman Charity and Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries officials on Wednesday to enhance the performance of its study, “Developing the Social Security System.”
The eighth meeting of the committee, chaired by Dr Hamad bin Sulaiman al Salmi, head of the committee was held in the presence of the committee members and secretariat staff. The meeting aimed to engage the guests in a dialogue and highlight the aspects that will enrich the study, and note the efforts undertaken in developing the Social Security System.
The committee reviewed the data and statistics related to the current beneficiaries according to the target groups and the annual assistance provided by the committee, the geographic distribution of the various governorates’ quotas and the expectations regarding the growth of the beneficiary numbers.
The Social Committee also hosted a number of officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Women’s Department of Rural Women Development Department of Coastal Women.
The committee discussed a number of topics related to the contribution of the department to the social security system.
