MUSCAT, Feb 12 - Both the Omani and Indian businessmen hailed the Oman-India Business Forum held during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They represented a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, banking, retail, construction and hospitality. “Both India and Oman accord high importance to mutual investments. I am sure both countries will continue to benefit from the tremendous opportunities in trade and investment,” said Yousuff Ali M A, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group. The Prime Minister, while attending the Oman-India Business meeting, praised His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’s government and the relations between India and Oman.

He had met many industry leaders in the Gulf and pitched India as an attractive destination for investments. “Such a meeting can result in bilateral investments growing in volume,” said Sunil Prabhakar, CEO of Travel City and Travel Point group. “Topics pertaining to investments and bilateral business relations were discussed. The coming days will see the implementation of a part of it,” said Zafarul Islam, a leading businessman from West Asia. Other members of the business fraternity in Oman said Modi’s visit has succeeded in further cementing the age-old relations between India and Oman, especially in trade and commerce.
