SUHAR: A group of 58 students and staff members visited Orpic on a study tour. The senior students pursuing Bachelors in Business Administration were given specific orientation to the public relations practices of Orpic. The head of the external relations department Saeed al Mamari and Administrator Markets and Logistics Naeema al Zufaiti received the delegation of boys, girls, and staff members of the faculty.
After a brief safety orientation, the group was given a brief introduction to Orpic and its history using video and power point presentation. Daeij al Hosni, the head of security briefed the students about the safety rules and procedures at Orpic. Naeema and Saeed gave the subject-specific talk followed by an intensive question-answer session. The course coordinator Dr Shweta moderated the session to make students understand the link between theory and practical components as it applies in the context of maintaining external relations at Orpic.
“It was a very well-conceived study tour which provided students to learn the PR practices in authentic real-life contexts,” said Nibras al Rushdi, the student council representative of Sohar University. Dr Rakesh Belwal, Amal al Badi, and Khoula al Shibli also attended the event.
