MUSCAT, NOV 11 - Built in an area of 50,000 square metre, the nine-storey landmark building housing the new headquarters of National Bank of Oman provides high quality office space and innovative support facilities.

Located opposite the Grand Mosque, and between the airport and City Centre, the building reflects the Omani landscape, architecture and culture.

At each floor level, the envelope of the headquarters changes, creating a natural stepped appearance rising from a roughhewn base to a clean, distinctive parapet line.

Briefing mediapersons about the building and its facilities, Adnan al Khudhuri, Senior Relationship Manager of the bank said, “the bank is now in a new phase of growth in line with the needs of the future generation”.

Banks are constantly trying to adapt new and innovative ways for providing easy and convenient banking for their customers, making sure they remain loyal and continue to use their services.

“The entire banking industry is undergoing drastic changes. New technology and expansion of digital channels have come together to create a really interesting time for retail banks. We at NBO put special emphasis on making banking more simple and convenient”, he said.

From tailor-made investment opportunities whether it is in real estate or stock market, the bank offers products designed to give its customers the very best, said Aziz M al Jahdhami, Head of Sadara Wealth Management & Private Banking.

“A comprehensive suite of products and services at preferential rates and fees, industry-leading financial advisory, and special privileges and benefits including dedicated staff will help you decide how to take your finances to the next level”, he said.

From dedicated areas for customers at every section, the building has all the modern facilities including a massive 200-seat theatre.

Over 90 per cent of the materials used in the building are all natural products, including the main entrance canopy which is made of glulam, a natural wood product.

The building’s façade consists of two primary elements: a loadbearing natural stone façade to the base, and high quality precast concrete towards the upper floors.

Omani stone is used in large deep blocks at the bottom to evoke the qualities of a natural landform.

Planting is provided at raised terraces across the building in order to provide relief and connection with the landscape.

Surrounding the building’s striking central atrium inspired by Oman’s dramatic wadi gorges, there is the new main branch with a state-of-the-art innovation corner, as well as a high quality open plan workspace.

The atrium brings together people, water, filtered sunlight and activity to create a memorable interior space.

This balances public access with security requirements to create a multifunctional facility that serves as both a staff resource and event area.
