Dakhiliyah tourism and hospitality destination, the Golden Tulip Nizwa, was the recipient of a unique award this week. General Manager of the hotel group, Sandeep Jaitly, prominent in the overseas promotion of tourism within the Sultanate, admitted to being, “surprised, but delighted,” with the presentation made to him by Sergeant Isaac Kwabena Modzaka, on behalf of the Specialist Team; Royal Engineers (Works) Unit, under Commanding Officer, Captain Bob Munson, in appreciation of the hotel, as their rest and recreation destination of choice.
The British Army unit has been deployed in the Sultanate for an extended period, training with Omani military units, in addition to taking part in the wider Saif Sarea 3 Joint Military Exercise that continues to serve both nations so well in terms of skills and preparedness.
One of the group commented, “It’s great to have a swim, use the gym, relax and even have some ‘fish and chips,” while yet another added, “It’s a great environment here, with great facilities, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a bit of ‘down time.”
Jaitly emphasised that the Golden Tulip Nizwa, “frequently provides hospitality, rest and recreational opportunities for diverse groups ranging from tourism, commercial, industrial, financial and sporting groups,” and that the token of appreciation was a validation of the effectiveness of the Golden Tulip Nizwa’s very effective middle management team, and recognition of the continued contribution the housekeeping, catering and front-of-house teams make to the guest experience, saying “We do think we do a good job, but it’s always nice to receive compliments, isn’t it?”
