MUSCAT, MARCH 14 -

BP Oman is taking part at this week’s SQU Career & Opportunities Training Fair offering a number of science, engineering and business roles to Omani graduates and students.

As the company continues with its development of the Khazzan gas field, BP offers different opportunities to fresh graduates into the Challenger programme and final year students into the internship programmes across wells, projects, R&D, finance, operations and procurement disciplines.

This is BP Oman’s 6th year of participating at the prestigious event, which takes place at the SQU Cultural Centre, Muscat from March 14 -16.

It has a stand, where further information will be available and BP personnel will be on-hand to discuss and answer any questions with prospective candidates. A number of BP VIPs will also be visiting the event to show their support and commitment to Omanisation.

Nine of the positions available are on the Challenger programme and are open to recent graduates, while seven are available on the internship programme — these are open to those still at university.

Successful candidates can look forward to competitive salaries, developing their technical and professional skills and the potential for rewarding and diverse careers in one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies.

Hussain al Bulushi, Country HR Manager at BP Oman, comments,“We are delighted to be supporting SQU once more in its Career Fair. At BP Oman, we are committed to bringing talented young Omanis into our business and building overall capability for Oman.

They will vital to the future in operating projects such as Khazzan, which we are building and bringing into operation later this year. With an Omanisation rate of around 70 per cent right now, we aim to increase that to 90 per cent by 2025 — and taking part in events like the SQU Fair are crucial in achieving that target.”
