WASHINGTON: Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, met at the Pentagon with David J Trachtenberg, US Deputy Secretary of Defence, within the framework of his current visit to the United States. The meeting reviewed the good relations between the two friendly countries. It also discussed a number of issues of common concern in the fields of the existing military cooperation between the two defence ministries of the two countries.
The US official hailed the level of relations and cooperation in the military field, expressing the readiness to enhance and promote this cooperation to serve the joint interests of the two friendly countries. The meeting was attended from the Omani side by the Sultanate’s Ambassador to US, the Military Attaché of the Sultanate’s Embassy in Washington and the delegation accompanying Sayyid Badr, while it was attended from the US side by senior officials in the US Department of Defence. — ONA
