Beaconhouse School Muscat winners feted at BISC 2018

MUSCAT: The Beaconhouse International Student Convention 2018 (BISC 2018), was successfully conducted at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, on February 20, 21. The occasion was graced by HH Sayyid Faris bin Fahar al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Al Suwaiq Football Club, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman Ali Javed.

In sports, Rumi Robbani Rafsanjani came first in shot put and third position in 200 m, 400m, and long jump. Israa Emadeldin Risk Ahmed Taleb came third in long jump and Falak Naeem bagged third in shot put. Hussain Ali and Hiya came second in table tennis. In co-curricular, BISC Exploratorium Mohammed Saad claimed the silver while in BISC Flim, Hamza Suri bagged the bronze.


Other than the 200 students present in Muscat, while thousands of Beaconhouse students worldwide participated in activities in their home countries namely Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines and Thailand in order to qualify for BISC. The event was endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Education. The grand convention began with the torch-bearing ceremony ignited by students representing 28 nations present on the occasion.


All contingents from the 5 countries exhibited enthusiasm to be part of such a multi-cultural event. The convention had competitions in basketball, futsal, table tennis and swimming. The event was inaugurated by Kasim Kasuri, Chief Executive Beaconhouse and Director UMISAA, Prof Salima Hashmi. Zeba Masood, Principal of Beaconhouse School Muscat, thanked the Ministry of Education, for their support and endorsement.
