Bank Muscat wins Oman’s Most Trusted Brand award

MUSCAT: For the second year in running, Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, has won Oman’s Most Trusted Brand award in the banking segment.


The award instituted by Apex Press and Publishing was presented by Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, to Waleed al Hashar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, in the presence of Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib al Said, Saleh al Zakwani, Chairman of Apex Press and Publishing, dignitaries and senior executives of the corporate sector.


The second edition of Oman’s Most Trusted Brand award endorsed top performing brands in Oman, based on public feedback obtained in a survey conducted by Apex Press and Publishing. The survey was open in 26 categories.


Waleed al Hashar said, “In recognition of distinctive brand-building initiatives, Bank Muscat is delighted to be voted as Oman’s Most Trusted Brand. Thirty-five years in the making, Bank Muscat brand is in a league of its own. Notably, from early on, Bank Muscat has been successful in understanding the target segment and reaching out as the bank of first choice to the nation and the people. Over the years, the brand proposition has clearly established both functional as well as emotional appeal to the largest banking family in Oman. The recognition is a tribute to the largest banking family in Oman which has endorsed Bank Muscat as a community brand.”


Al Hashar added, “Thirty-five years of banking excellence has helped Bank Muscat enjoy better brand loyalty. Driven to excel, Bank Muscat has set benchmarks for brands in Oman and the region. The winning thrust is the result of understanding the consumer better than competitors and getting the total ‘brand mix’ right. The brand recall for Bank Muscat in the survey was among the highest. The survey respondents included Omanis and expatriates who endorsed Bank Muscat as the trusted banking partner in Oman. The survey findings were based on unaided recall, which implied superb brand exposure, indicating a clear competitive advantage in the brand space.


The Bank Muscat brand is reckoned as a prolific innovator wherein the first association is the element of innovation. Catering to the Sultanate’s traditional as well as tech-savvy, young population, Bank Muscat has adopted innovative ways to build the brand.
