MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and ‘Imprints’ initiative to support youth as part of social responsibility, has extended a helping hand to two youths undergoing a drug rehabilitation programme at Shurooq Al Amal Al Alamia.

Shurooq Al Amal Al Alamia is the first of its kind non-profit drug rehabilitation centre in Oman. Located in North Al Hail, the objective of the centre is to alleviate the scourge of drug addiction from society. Shurooq Al Amal Al Alamia follows the 12-step programme established by Narcotics Anonymous (NA) which is the international procedure for caring for drug addicts.

Zahra al Harmaliya, who runs the centre, is a trained therapist in drug addiction and mood change. Zahra thanked Bank Muscat for helping youth facing addiction problems to kick the habit and join mainstream society. The fine example set by the bank will be emulated by other corporates, benefiting needy segments of society, she added.

The support to the programme underscores the bank’s commitment to social responsibility and thereby strengthen the hands of needy segments in society.
