Ban on recruiting expats in certain professions extended

The Ministry of Manpower has extended the ban on the recruitment of expatriates in certain profession for further six months starting from June 1. As per the decision


187/2017 (Article 1), the suspension of issuing work permits will continue for another 6 months for the professions such as salesperson /marketing and purchase managers. .


This decision does not apply to establishments registered with the excellent grade.


Decision 188/2017, the suspension of issuing permits will continue for another six months for carpentry workshops, aluminum workshops, blacksmith workshops and brick factories. This decision does not apply to establishments registered with the excellent grade, international and consultancy, establishments working on government projects and establishments registered with the authority for the Development of small and medium enterprises.


Decision 192/2017 suspends issuing for permits for another of six months for professions such as construction and cleaning work. The decision does not apply to establishments registered with the excellent grade, global and consultancy, establishments operating in the implementation of government projects.
