MUSCAT: The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) will be presenting the “Photography Research/Report Award” to Bait al Zubair Foundation on its sixth annual HIPA Awards Ceremony on March 15, Wednesday, at the Dubai Opera. A first for an Omani organisation, this recognition shall further uplift Bait al Zubair’s mission of supporting both established and new generation of talented photographers, according to the officials.
A cultural foundation which displays a vast collection of artefacts that show Oman’s rich culture and heritage, Bait al Zubair also offers a venue for aspiring photographers to exhibit and promote their works. The Foundation has a permanent gallery displaying rare photographs of the Old Muscat, as well as Royal portraits from the early years of the Sultanate’s history. Bait al Zubair Foundation’s reward shall be allocated to support upcoming, young brilliant Omani photographers and to continuously provide an avenue for these skilled photographers to learn, develop, explore and exhibit their talents.
